Pragathish Rajan is a visual artist and poet from Bengaluru who paints with watercolor, gouache, oil, graphite and ink. His avant-garde works, mostly depict women and animals in a backdrop of humor and surrealism.

Women – the women of his life and the woman within or the divine feminine force which makes all creation possible, form the central theme in his works, painted with overt emotions and symbolistic colors. He shares a deep connection with animals, which are portrayed animatedly in his paintings. There is a persistent comicality in all of his pieces, mirroring the nature of the human condition. His works turn out to be inevitably urgent, direct and strong, embodying his search for the roots – not just his, but the root of it all. His paints with a variety of media – including watercolor, oil and gouache.
